Persuasive Devices

Persuasive Devices

This week we learn language of persuasion by watching the video “the story bottle water”. Then i think of the advertisements in our television and think of the persuasive devises which are used to make us buy that particular product.

A popular method is using a well-known person such as cricketers, singers, actors, who have an attractive personality. Those people praise and value the product by saying that they also used that product. They are well-paid for persuading people. The people are cheated by their attractive words.

Another device is telling that the product is natural and contains indigenous herbs. The toothpaste, soup, shampoo, facial cream and scrubs are the several products which are advertised in this way.  In reality, those products are full of chemicals.

Another method is to attract the customer is giving a small token. Most product of milk powder is kept in a cute plastic container to attract the consumer. Sometime the producers conduct competition by awarding valuable prizes to customers. A very few people will get prizes but a large number of consumers are tempt to buy the product in order to win a price.
